Mackerel Teriyaki Rice Bowls

Teriyaki is the one sauce to rule them all. Transform an otherwise mundane piece of fish into a sweet and sticky sensation to go with rice.

Ingredients

  • 6 Mackerel fillets
  • Sesame sauce and spring onion greens for garnish
  • 1000 g vegetables of choice

Teriyaki sauce

  • 6 tbsp soy sauce
  • 6 tbsp mirin
  • 2 tbsp sugar

Instructions

  • Start rice in a rice cooker.
  • Wash, cut and cook the vegetables.
  • After the vegetables are done, fry fish on both sides and reserve.
  • Reduce teriyaki sauce in pan. Return fish to pan and toss to coat.
  • Blast fish with blowtorch until slightly charred.
  • Garnish and serve hot.
